The space shuttle Atlantis has returned to Earth
The spacecraft landed at Edwards Airforce Base in southern California. In the past few days, the scheduled landing at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida was repeatedly postponed due to bad weather conditions. Flight control decided not to wait any longer and diverted the Atlantis to California. The space shuttle will now have to be transported to the Kennedy Space Centre by road, a rather expensive operation. In the past two weeks, the seven crewmembers of the Atlantis had been working on the renovation of the Hubble space telescope.
