Published on 4 January 2010 - 2:31pm
More about:

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has asked his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-il to dismantle the communist country’s nuclear weapon programme.

He reiterated calls for North Korea to return to the six nation talks. Pyongyang abandoned the talks nine months ago.

President Lee also suggested repatriating the bodies of tens of thousands of soldiers who were killed in the Korean war, which began exactly 60 years ago.
