Slovakia has reported its first fatality from the Mexican flu.
The victim was a 32-year-old man from Prievidza with a kidney condition. His death was announced during a live press conference on Slovakian television. The authorities say the A(H1N1) virus was not the only cause of death, but was a contributing factor.
