An explosion at a coal mine in Slovakia has killed 20 workers in the country's deadliest mining disaster ever.
Nine others were lightly injured and taken to hospital. The underground blast happened in the town of Handlova, 195 kilometres north of the capital Bratislava. The miners were trying to put out a fire 330 metres below the surface when the blast occurred.
