Meteorologists expect this year's hurricane season to be worse than normal.
They base their warning on the high temperatures above the Atlantic Ocean and the high humidity. These two phenomena create tropical storms.
The meteorological institute AccuWeather.com predicts 16 to 18 tropical storms this season.
The average number of storms per season is 11.
Seven hurricanes are expected to hit the Gulf of Mexico, possibly with huge consequences. The American coast could face five hurricanes.
