A bomb attack in the Afghan town of Lashkar Gah, the capital of the province of Helmand, has left at least seven people dead and 14 wounded.
One week ago in Helmand, NATO and Afghan forces launched the biggest offensive against the Taliban since 2001. On Monday, 27 civilians were killed in a NATO air strike on a convoy that was believed to be carrying insurgents. US General Stanley McChrystal has offered his apologies to the Afghan people for that incident.
