Saudi floods kill at least 77

At least 77 killed in Saudi floodsFloods in Saudi Arabia have killed at least 77 people; dozens of others are missing. Most of the deaths occurred in the port city of Jeddah, particularly in the shanty towns at the edge of Jeddah. Others were trapped in cars and buses.

 

Twenty-one of those killed were Saudi citizens and 56 were foreign workers. None of the pilgrims who are in Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca were among the casualties.
