The trial of a businessman accused of killing 2000 Tutsis has begun at the Rwanda Tribunal in Tanzania.
In 1994, Gaspard Kanyarukiga is believed to have given orders to demolish a church in which the Tutsis had sought shelter. he then allegedly watched as people were crushed or killed trying to escape.
The Tribunal Prosecutor says the man persuaded a reluctant bulldozer driver to demolish the church.
The businessman was arrested in 2004, his trial is likely to take many years.
