Rock wall collapse kills two on Tenerife

Published on 1 November 2009 - 10:07pm
More about:

At least two people were killed on the Spanish island of Tenerife when a rock wall collapsed at a beach on Sunday. The victims were a 22-year-old British tourist and a Spanish woman. Fears that another two to five people were buried under the rubble have now been discounted following a search by sniffer dogs.

The accident occurred at Playa de los Gigantes, a popular touristy beach on the west of the island. Spanish media are reporting that rocks had already fallen on the same area one month ago.
