It's gold for Radio Netherlands Worldwide - we've won a top prize at the New York Festivals for our programme about life in Gaza made by producer Eric Beauchemin.
 

The programme - A Prison Within A  Prison - was chosen from hundreds of entries from around the world. It tells the story of people trying to cope with depression in the Gaza Strip. The Grand Jury awarded it top prize in the category Human Relations.

Our show The State We're In has also been awarded a Finalist Certificate in the category National/International Affairs - this for a special edition focusing on the crisis in Zimbabwe featuring undercover reporting from the country.
 

"It's fantastic to get this sort of external recognition for the programmes we make. Congratulations to Eric Beauchemin and The State We're In team. Eric was the undercover reporter in Zimbabwe and assembled the material for the documentary about Gaza too - so it is a remarkable personal achievement for him," said Andy Clark Head of the English Department.
