Radio Netherlands Worldwide's broadcasting installation in Madagascar will resume operations from tomorrow. Two transmitters will be back in action, with two more to follow in the coming weeks. This means RNW's shortwave radio broadcasts to Africa and Southeast Asia will soon be back to normal

Fire broke out at the installation on Christmas Eve destroying the high voltage circuit breaker equipment and affecting shortwave broadcasts. It proved possible to broadcast over half of the shortwave programming with the help of partner stations, but problems with prime-time availability and poor reception remained. Satellite and Internet broadcasts continued as normal.
