One hundred Rembrandt etchings will be on display in Oman from Thursday, in a free exhibition organised by the al-Salmi library. The library says there has never before been such a large-scale exhibition of Rembrandt's work in the Middle East.
The works have been loaned by the Rembrandt House in Amsterdam and by a private collector, the German Rumbler family.
The top piece in the display is a Rembrandt self-portrait dating from 1634. There are also numerous biblical scenes and Dutch landscapes. The venue of the exhibition is the Grand Hyatt Hotel in the Oman capital, Masqat.
