In the Dutch premier league, PSV have beaten FC Utrecht 2-1. This puts the Eindhoven club at the top of the league together with FC Twente, although PSV have a better goal record.
FC Twente from Enschede won 2-0 against Heracles Almelo.
FC Groningen beat a much weaker ADO The Hague. Sparta Rotterdam drew 1-all against Vitesse Arnhem after Vitesse scored in the final minute.
In Amsterdam, Ajax beat Roda JC 4-0. Luis Suarez scored all four goals.
FC Heerenveen's interim trainer Jan de Jonge has resigned after failing to get the team out of what he called a "sporting dip". He will remain employed as head of training at the Frisian premier league club.
