US President Barack Obama has arrived in Shanghai for his first visit to China.
On Monday the president is due to speak with hundreds of young people. He will also answer questions put to him via the internet.
Afterwards he will travel to Beijing to meet his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao. The two leaders are expected to discuss the tension in economic relations between China and the US, the North Korean and Iran nuclear issues and climate change.
Later this week, the US president will travel to South Korea.
