The mayors of three towns to be visited by Queen Beatrix have decreed temporary emergency orders.
Regional police in the eastern province of Overijssel say there are indications that people are planning to cause disturbances during the visits in Dalfsen, Raalte and Ommen. The police have not released any detail about the nature of the indications.
The emergency rules allow police to frisk people as a preventive measure. Demonstrations and the displaying of banners and flags has been ruled out. The measures follow dramatic events on Queen's Day, 30 April 2009, in the city of Apeldoorn.
On that day a depressed man drove his car into the crowds cheering the passing royal family, killing eight bystanders.
