Published on 20 December 2009 - 10:27am
More about:

Police in the northern Dutch town of Groningen have shot dead three reindeer, who had escaped their pens with a number of other animals.

Police feared the animals could cause an accident on the nearby A7 motorway.

Attempts to drug the animals failed.

"Police feared the animals could cause an accident on the nearby A7 motorway."......If the police killed the reindeer because they could cause an accident on the motorway, why don't they kill the drivers who drive their autos while intoxicated on alcohol and drugs? They are more dangerous than three reindeer. Thousands of people are killed every year on motorways by people who are intoxicated on drugs and alcohol but no one cares about the safety of the public. Who is more dangerous to public safety? The three, innocent reindeer or the thousands of inconsiderate drunks and dope heads who drive on the motorways? Sad, very sad case of the Dutch's inhumanity against man and reindeer.
