Police collect charges against swim instructor

Published on 22 July 2009 - 4:55pm
More about:

Police have registered 11 reports in the case of Benno Larue, the swimming instructor from Den Bosch accused of sexually abusing young girls. The reports resulted from 31 interviews with the parents of suspected victims.

Benno Larue was arrested in early June on suspicion of sexual abuse of his pupils at swimming pools in and around Den Bosch. He specialised in lessons for the mentally disabled and children with a fear of water. Police discovered tens of thousands of photographs of the girls at his home.

The case is being investigated by a 34-strong police team, including specialist detectives and computer experts. The investigation is expected to last four months.
