Peru's main tourist attraction, Machu Picchu, has reopened two months after heavy rainfall cut the Inca citadel off from the outside world.
The 15th-century city, a World Heritage Site, closed in January after flooding and landslides killed dozens of people. The extreme weather also damaged the railway to the site, located 2,500 meters above sea level, leaving thousands of tourists stranded.
The formal reopening of the ancient Inca citadel was attended by US actress Susan Sarandon, who has done much to boost tourism to Peru.
Some 2,000 tourists from all over the world visit Machu Picchu every day.
