Passport control at Schiphol under review

Published on 30 July 2009 - 8:55am
More about:

Dutch residents travelling on international flights from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport may in the future have to submit their passport details in advance, under a new procedure being considered by the border police. The objective is to speed up passport control procedures at the airport.

The plans are still in the early stages, and the border police are in discussion with other affected parties such as the justice authorities, customs and airlines. In the Netherlands, passport details are already lodged with local councils, and advance notice of travel would allow the police to check, for example, whether the person has any unpaid fines before being allowed to leave the country.

It's not yet clear how quickly the system could be introduced if a decision is made to go ahead.

Very interested story. What is the definition again of fascism? "A political regime, ideologically based on centralized government (holland got that forever already), government control of business (yep, ing, abn amro, fortis, ns etc.) repression of criticism or opposition, (assassination of pim fortuyn, theo van gogh, prosecution of geert wilders) a leader cult and exalting the state and/or religion above individual rights. ..."(no individual rights in holland anymore) yep holland is almost 100% fascist. wow. a big change from portraying itself as liberal. reality hits hard
