A local party opposed to anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders will be able to take part in local elections despite an earlier ban.
The Council of State, the hightest administrative court in the Netherlands, has thrown out the ban imposed by the electoral commission in the city of The Hague because the party allegedly focused on attacking a single individual. But the court said that the "Stop Wilders Now" party was not targeting Mr Wilders as an individual, but his views, which is legitimate.
Although the blockade has been lifted, it is not certain whether "Stop Wilders Now" will be fielding any candidates in the March local elections. They have yet to submit an official list of candidates.
