In Pakistan, at least one person was killed when a suicide bomber rode a motorbike into a bus carrying employees of a nuclear installation in the city of Rawalpindi and blew himself up. Thirty other people were injured.
Pakistan is currently reeling from a wave of such attacks. These are being seen by many people as a response to the army offensive launched two months ago in the Swat Valley against the Taliban. The Pakistani army says it is now winding up the operation and that Baitullah Mehsud, the chief leader of the Taliban in Pakistan, is surrounded.
