Tickets for the speed-skating events at the Winter Olympic Games in the Canadian city of Vancouver have been sold out five months in advance.
Only 2,400 of the 8,000 tickets are sold to foreigners, since Canada reserves most of the seats for local residents. Many tickets have been sold to US citizens.
In the Netherlands, where skating is a hugely popular sport, a ticket agency has managed to purchase several hundred tickets. Thousands of ticket orders have already been placed.
