Nokia and Sony Ericsson top of the list

Published on 8 January 2010 - 2:29pm
More about:

Greenpeace's latest green electronics survey places the Scandinavian companies Nokia and Sony Ericsson at the top of the list. The firms score the best in terms of energy consumption, the phasing out of hazardous substances and the collecting and processing of discarded devices.

Apple and HP are also doing well. All Apple's devices and two of HP's newest laptops are now free of PVC and brominated flame-retardants.

Greenpeace says that Dell and Samsung are among the companies failing to meet their green promises, not as yet having marketed any toxic-free computers or TVs. In Greenpeace's opinion this is pure obstinacy, as other companies have proved that environmentally-friendly products are possible.
