Nine members of China's Uighur minority have been executed for their part in July's riots.
The state news agency reports that the nine were executed recently, without specifying a date. As required by law in China, the death penalty was checked by the Supreme Court before the sentence was carried out.
Around 200 people were killed in Xinjiang province this summer in rioting between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese. Hundreds of arrests were made, mostly of Uighurs.
Uighur organisations outside of China have condemned the executions.
