Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has held brief talks with a representative of the junta in Myanmar (formerly Burma). She met Labour Minister Aung Kyi for 45 minutes at a government guesthouse in Yangon (formerly Rangoon).
It was the third such meeting since October. Despite the talks, fiercely critical reports on Ms Suu Kyi appeared in state newspapers on Wednesday.
The opposition leader has written two recent letters to the government which include an offer to work with the junta to end Western sanctions against Myanmar.
The papers called her offer dishonest, saying she has always backed the sanctions. She was also criticised for leaking her letters to foreign media.
The 64-year-old Nobel peace laureate has spent 14 of the past 20 years under house arrest. She is appealing against the conviction that led to her latest period of house arrest.
