More bodies from Haitian migrant boat found

Published on 28 July 2009 - 7:30pm
More about:

So far, nine bodies have been found after a boat carrying Haitian migrants hit a reef and capsized near the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. About 120 people have been rescued from the sea.

It is not know how many people are missing as the exact number of passengers is unknown. Survivors say extra people were picked up while the boat was underway. Rescue workers believe at least 70 people are still missing, but there is little hope of their being found alive.
