Agriculture Minister Gerda Verburg is hoping to get back to work this Friday after her collapse in parliament on Thursday evening. A spokesperson for the ministry says she is doing well.
Ms Verburg nearly fainted when replying to questions from MPs about the dredging of the Westerscheldt river. The debate was suspended and the minister spent the night in hospital. Doctors have not been able to find anything seriously wrong with the minister's health.
Ms Verburg is 52 and known to be an amateur marathon runner in her spare time.
