      Mineworkers killed in Indonesia

      Nine miners were killed in Indonesia when an explosion caused a coal mine to collapse.

       

      Twenty-four people are thought to be trapped in the coal mine where rescue workers are searching for survivors.

      The mine is located in Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, and is owned by local people. Indonesia is a mineral-rich country with an extensive mining industry.
