Michael Jackson's family demands answers

Published on : 28 June 2009 - 11:35am | By RNW News Desk
More about:

The family of pop star Michael Jackson, who died at the age of 50 on Thursday, has ordered a second autopsy. Family members say they are not satisfied with the quality of the first autopsy and that they are angry about a number of "unanswered questions".

The Los Angeles Coroner's office released a statement on Friday saying that results of a preliminary autopsy are inconclusive and that it would take six to eight weeks to determine the cause of death.

The well-known activist Reverend Jesse Jackson says the family is angry with doctor Conrad Murray, who was the only person with Michael Jackson at the time of his death. He says the doctor, who was employed by Michael Jackson only last month, had not told the family what kind of medications he had prescribed.

"He says the doctor, who was employed by Michael Jackson only last month, had not told the family what kind of medications he had prescribed."...Unless Jackson authorized the release of his medical information, the medical doctor would have violated California law by releasing any of Jackson's medical history to anyone. It apears Jackson's newest doctor will take some of the blame for Jackson's demise. If Jackson had this doctor for one about a month, it would appear his previous doctors had a very good reason for leaving his employment. I guess the results of their departure will be forthcoming at his newest doctor's criminal or civil trials-if any trials happen at all.
