In Düsseldorf, Germany, 26 schoolchildren have contracted Mexican flu.
The pupils attend a Japanese school where a number of students were already infected. The school has been shut down in order to prevent further H1N1 infections.
The World Health Organisation is holding an emergency meeting today. It may raise the alarm level to six, signalling a full-blown pandemic. It would be the first official pandemic in decades.
