Indonesian opposition leader Megawati Sukarnoputri has lodged an official protest against the results of the presidential elections held earlier this month. The other opposition candidate, former vice-president Jusuf Kalla, had previously filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court.
Both candidates say the ballot was dogged by irregularities such as inaccurate voter lists and polling stations which remained closed. The election on 8 July resulted in a resounding victory for the ruling president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
