Medvedev to meet Balkenende in Amsterdam

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who is in the Netherlands for a two-day visit, is meeting with Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende today.

 

The talks will take place in Amsterdam, where the Russian leader attended the opening, on Friday evening, of the expanded Amsterdam Hermitage museum, along with Queen Beatrix, Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima. Choreographer Hans van Maanen specially made for the occasion a ballet that was performed by two Russian dancers of the National Ballet. The Amsterdam Hermitage, a branch of the renowned museum in St Petersburg, will stage temporary exhibitions drawing on the collections of the Hermitage in St Petersburg and other Russian museums
