At least 200 youths were arrested after a demonstration turned violent in the Greek capital Athens on Tuesday evening.
About 1200 protesters were involved in clashes with the police during the rally marking the anniversary of student anti-junta protests in 1973. Tuesday's protesters threw stones and petrol bombs at police and torched cars. At least 13 officers were hurt, one seriously.
Although the march commemorating the 1973 student revolt was officially sanctioned, there were thousands of officers policing it. The authorities were expecting trouble from protesters angry at the shooting dead by police of Alexis Grigoropoulos, a 15-year-old youth, in Athens last December. The incident sparked days of rioting at the time.
