Martin Jol is the new coach for Ajax. The trainer has left the Germany's Hamburg SV to sign with the Amsterdam club for three years.
Jol will also be responsible for buying, selling, scouting and youth training. His assistent trainers will be John van 't Schip and Danny Blind. Blind will combine this function with his current job as technical manager.
Jol succeeds Marco van Basten, who resigned at the beginning of this month after a disappointing season. Jol's contract with HSV was due to continue for one more season. Before that he was trainer for Tottenham Hotspur, RKC Waalwijk and Roda JC.
