Dutch cyclist Marianne Vos has won her first race of the season, the Trofeo Binda in Italy. She beat fellow Dutch woman Martine Bras after the two broke away from the leading group of ten cyclists. Third place went to Swedish cyclist Emma Johansson.

The Olympic gold medal winner, Ms Vos said she was mainly concerned about her level of fitness. She fell towards the end of the race but managed to make up the difference with a little help from her teammate Andrea Bosman, who came in eleventh.
