About 250 weapons, including 50 powerful hand guns, were stolen from a gun club in the 'Amsterdam West' suburb of the Dutch capital in the early hours of Monday. No ammunition was taken.

Although the theft was discovered on Monday evening, the police did not release news of the heist immediately. Witnesses are being sought and the police want to know if people are offered guns for sale. The robbers are still at large.
