At least ten people were killed earlier today in Pakistan's north-western city of Peshawar in a suspected suicide bombing outside a police station. There are conflicting accounts of who transported the bomb. Some Pakistani media report that the suicide bomber was a woman dressed in a burqa, a garment which covers the entire body, who blew herself up when intercepted by police guards.
On Thursday, a child was killed in a bombing in Peshawar. A week ago, 49 people died when a bomb exploded at the Khyber Bazaar, one of the city’s largest markets.
Peshawar is the capital of Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, where government forces are conducting an offensive against Taliban rebels and other Muslim fundamentalist groups.
