Seven bicycles belonging to road-racing cyclist Lance Armstrong have fetched 1.2 million dollars at auction in New York.
The proceeds of the sale will go to Livestrong, the cancer support foundation established by Armstrong, who recovered from cancer himself in 1996.
The highlight of the auction was a cycle painted by British artist Damian Hirst: it went under the hammer for half a million dollars.
