In the Pakistani city of Lahore at least 40 people have been killed in coordinated suicide bombings. At least 100 people were injured.

Two bombers on foot targeted military vehicles in a densely populated area of the city. The district is home to army officials and military installations, as well as civilian homes, shops and restaurants.

A similar attack in Lahore on Monday, targeting a police and secret service building, left 13 people dead. The Pakistani authorities say they suspect the Taliban are behind the attacks.
