Wildbreien or ‘wild knitting’ has been nominated most beautiful Dutch neologism of 2011. The newly coined word got the most votes on the website of the Dutch Institute of Lexicology.
Wild knitting is also known abroad as street knitting, urban knitting, graffiti knitting, and yarn bombing. The term refers to knitting colourful knitwear for lamp posts, street furniture or trees to make the streets more colourful and cheerful.
'Infobesity' came second. This word is used for the condition of someone suffering from the overdose of information we are consuming every day thanks to modern technology.
Third place was a tie between twitterature (literary works in the form of tweets) and boomerang child. The latter word has already been in use for some years and refers to students who live away from home and come back home in the weekend for their washing to be done.

To be honest, I prefer knitting hats for street people. I am sure they appreciate it more.
