Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin says owners of Dutch pornography web sites do not have to prove that the models are 18 or over as it would be practically impossible to do so.

According to Minister Hirsch Ballin, there is so much pornographic material and much of it comes from abroad, which makes it virtually impossible for website owners to find proof of the models' age.

The minister's remarks come in response to a call by MPs for porno site operators to provide proof of the age of the models. Mr Hirsch Ballin says the justice ministry already has the tools it needs to close down websites using underage models.
