Just one suspect remains in Urk murder case

Published on 26 November 2009 - 2:09pm
More about:

Two boys aged 12 and 13 are no longer treated as suspects of the murder of a 14-year-old boy in the Dutch town of Urk.

Explaining their release, the judicial authorities said that although they are no longer suspected, the boys will be investigated for possibly failing to prevent a crime. The outcome of the investigation will determine whether they have to appear in court. The boys' lawyers say that effectively their clients are still suspects.

Fourteen-year-old Dirk Post's body was found last week in a park near Urk. A third suspect who is 15 is still in custody.
