Eunice Kennedy Shriver, a sister of murdered President John F. Kennedy, has died at the age of 88 in a hospital in Massachussets.
A prominent champion of the mentally ill, she was one of the founders of the Paralympics, the Olympic Games for handicapped sportspeople. One of nine siblings, she is survived by Democrat Senator Edward Kennedy and Jean Kennedy Smith. She also was the mother-in-law of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
