Indonesia's capital Jakarta plans to create a special place in the centre of the city where people can go to demonstrate and express their views.
The city's governor Fauzi Bowo likens the new facility to speaker's corner in London's Hyde Park. It will be located near the National Monument and will be able to accommodate around 10,000 people.
It is being presented as a symbol for democracy in Indonesia but it will also serve to prevent the traffic problems that currently occur as a result of demonstrations, as well as doubling as a concert venue.
