The National Coordinator for Counterterrorism has told far-right MP Geert Wilders that he has to take responsibility himself for whom he sees, newspaper de Volkskrant reports.
On Monday it was revealed that a journalist had infiltrated his Freedom Party for several months. When current affairs magazine HP/De Tijd asked to run a profile on the party last summer, Mr Wilders refused to cooperate. The editor then had an intern at the magazine, Karen Geurtsen, apply for a work placement with a Freedom Party MP. She has now written a series of articles on her experiences, to be published over the coming month. Mr Wilders has described the magazine’s move as “vulgar”.
Due to the many death threats he has received in response to his anti-Islamic stance, Mr Wilders’ receives round-the-clock police protection. He said he was concerned at the ease with which Ms Geurtsen had been able to infiltrate his party, and requested a meeting with the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism for an explanation. He claimed the undercover journalist should have been subjected to security screening when she applied for the job.
However, the counterterrorism agency says it can’t be expected to screen everybody who comes into contact with a person receiving protection, and it’s Mr Wilders’ own responsibility to decide whom he sees or employs, unless the agency has a specific reason to intervene.
Geert Wilders (ANP)

I wonder if her next task will be to infiltrate any of the Islamic groups to see if they pose any threat. It is an easy task of course to make the Freedom Party look dangerous if you are a Liberal journo. I would have been more impressed if she had donned a burqa and infiltrated a terrorist group but then of course that really would be dangerous.
The Netherlands is finished as a nation with idiots like Karen Geurtsen and to think she actually gets paid for the tripe she writes.
Geert Wilders should take the undercover journalist to court ASAP and prevent her from being able to publish anything since she obtained information deceitfully.
Wrong, it is up to the government to protect politicians from terrorist attacks and or any bodily harm by screening them thoroughly before allowing them to be hired on in close contact with a politician, especially a high profile one that needs extra protection.
