Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several of his ministers have visited the Holocaust museum in Berlin together with German government leaders.
Mr Netanyahu called the visit, which comes 65 years after the end of World War II, a historic moment. At the end of this month, he will visit the former Nazi destruction camp in Auschwitz in Poland.
The Israeli delegation was on a one-day visit to Berlin, where it signed a number of agreements on economic cooperation. The visit also included a joint ministerial meeting on the peace process in the Middle East and the Iranian nuclear programme. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she would back possible new sanctions against Iran.
