Israel has arrested a leader of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
Maher Uda was arrested in the West Bank, near the city of Ramallah. The Israeli army says he is the founder and leader of Hamas' armed wing in the West Bank. Maher Uda, who has been on Israel's most wanted persons list since the end of the 1990s, was allegedly involved in a series of suicide bomb attacks that claimed around 70 lives.
