Iran threatens to "cut off" hands of aggressors

Published on 22 September 2009 - 3:53pm
More about:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned that Iran would "cut off" the hands of any potential aggressor. Speaking at a military parade held in Tehran to commemorate the Iran-Iraq war in 1980, Mr Ahmadinejad said these days no power would "dare to attack Iran."

He added that the foreign military presence in the Middle East was the root of all evil in the region. Both the United States and Israel have warned that military action against Iran cannot be ruled out if it fails to curb its controversial nuclear programme.

The Iranian president is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
