The former head of the Indonesian anti-corruption commission Antasari Azhar has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for murder.
He was arrested in May on charges of killing businessman Nasrudin Zulkarnaen. The two were allegedly rivals in love. Mr Azhar reportedly had an affair with one of the businessman's wives; a 22-year-old golf caddy. The convict claims he was framed as part of an attempt to sabotage his corruption investigations.
Mr Azhar has announced will appeal against his conviction. The public prosecutors' office, which sought the death sentence, is still considering whether it will file an appeal.
