The militant Islamist leader Dulmatin has been buried in his Indonesian home village. Around 2000 supporters attended the funeral, which was heavily policed.

Dulmatin was shot dead on Tuesday in Jakarta in a gunfight with counter-terrorist forces. As an explosives specialist for the militant Islamic group Jemaah Islamiyah, he was suspected of involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings. The US had put a price of 10 million dollars on his head.
